Our Team

The Royal Standard is run by a voluntary team of DIrectors. They are responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of our studios, as well as programming for exhibitions and events.

Directors volunteer for The Royal Standard on a rolling term of two years. This allows emerging and early career artists to take ownership of the organisation, enabling fresh energy and new ideas. The Director role is seen as an intense period of development for emerging artists and arts professionals, providing them with the practical skills needed to build a career in the arts.

The Royal Standard has been built from the hard work and commitment of Liverpool’s artists who have gone on to lead successful careers in the arts in a diverse range of roles including; curators, writers, producers and internationally renowned artists. The Royal Standard has equipped them with the practical skills necessary to play leading roles in organising and producing work for national and international institutions.
