GLISK

‘GLISK’

Derives from Scottish dialect meaning ‘Glimpse’.

‘GLISK’

Derives from Cumbrian dialect verb, meaning to glitter, shine, sparkle, glisten.

Both of those meanings fit with this series of work. For a long time the contents of Amy Cadwallader’s videos have been based on footage of lights from a variety of sources as well as shiny reflective surfaces. Re-worked into new patterns / sequences and distorted just enough to not look like their original form. It’s important for Amy to play with the footage without pushing it too much and also allowing it to do its own thing once effects have been added.

All of the videos that have been created over the past few years will be grouped together and placed throughout the space for people to watch and experience in different heights and scales.

Amy has been very lucky to work with six very talented noise makers, presenting them eachmwith a different video to create audio / sound / noise to go along with the contents as part of this project. These include -

Anna Jane Houghton (@annajanehoughton)
Freddy Francké (@srilankus)
Nikki Milla (@nikstergrams)
Ryan Murphy (@ryanmurphytube)
Sidonie Hand-Halford (@sidoniehh)
GADZOOKS! (@_gadzooks_)

All of these collaborations will be featured as part of the show.

Everyone and their pets are welcome at TRS on the 18th November!
