By incorporating contemporary collage and sculptural assemblages, SPACE IS NOT A VOID explored the phenomenology of space. Drawing together practices which embody a strong sense of materiality, each work forces the viewer to consider and question their surrounding environment. Through utilising fragments of found objects, colour and texture as mechanisms to represent permanence and perception, the artists provides a response to both space and place. The works included in this exhibition convey a poetic fragility that is often inherent with constructed settings.
