Ellie Towers
Concerned with the reformation of interaction through simulacral forms, Ellie’s work attempts to both unpack interpersonal relationships, and anecdotally provoke. Exploring how warpings of gender, domestic-life, and socially-fringed outlooks could help in dismantling the ties of moralistic and capital-convention, she joins the viewer on a pilgrimage through fictional landscapes cobbled together from a collection of idiosyncratic totems.
Currently working with the Liverpool Biennial, at LJMU as a part-time guest mentor, and as one of 16 Core-Members of SPUR.world with over 125 Community Players, Ellie also often co-creates alongside Reece Griffiths, another artist based at TRS. Their faux-game style online work ‘Un-Boxing’ Won the Kate Cooper Selection prize , and their recent piece ‘Walkies’ was the culmination of their time on The Space Raiders residency in the main gallery space of TRS, both of which you can read more about the development of ‘here’.
