Dan o’dempsey presents a multisensory installation consisting of large format poetical prints, interactive paintings and an interactive sculpture resembling a Karesansui Garden. It intends to provoke a sense of introspective self-reflection that the viewer can pursue safely in the garden.
about the artist:
o’dempsey’s practice is broad and eclectic with interests in public engagement, collaboration, Taoism and mindfulness at its core. As a neurodivergent person with ASC, ADHD, OCD + Tourettes his practice investigates what it is to engage, witness and grasp onto the environment around him, through philosophical inquiry, examine different social perspectives and arguments in order to gain a deeper understanding of purpose, trauma, self-identity, mortality, connection and peace.
he explores these subjects through painting, poetry, installation, music, sculpture and basically anything that allows me to express his thoughts and ideas in a tangible form.
